A hiking route from La Chapelle d'Abondance village to Lac d'Arvouin - suitable for good walkers.

Maximum altitude: 1854 m
Starting from the car park sign posted beside the Tourist Office and pharmacy, return to the crossroads with the D22 road and continue uphill to the end of the minor road that goes between the Town Hall and the chapel where you will reach the Chevenne car park, proceed uphill on the marked trail to the right towards the Col de Vernaz pass. Once at the pass, turn right in the direction of the "Col de Resse", and then continue in the direction of the Lac d' Arvouin.
Arriving at the "Tete de Avalanche", you will be look down on Lac d'Arvouin. After decending to the Lake, take the steep trail leading down to the right in the direction of La Chapelle d'Abondance.
The route is strongly discouraged if snow persists as sections of the trails in the cols are challenging and on some slopes are very risky without appropriate climbing gear.
