Medium level hike. Magnificent view from the summit from Lake Geneva to Mont-Blanc. You will cross the chalets of Autigny and discover the imposing ridge of Mont Chauffé.
Departure: Le Sauvage, 1229m. Follow the path in the direction of the Autigny chalets. You will follow a natural spruce forest which was severely damaged during the storm of December 1999; it is the subject of reconstruction work (plantations) undertaken by the commune of Abondance.
From the Col de la Plagne du Mont (1546m), continue along the path from where the first chalets of Autigny can be seen opposite.
After passing the high-tension pylon, continue the path through the chalets. It rises on the left in the middle of the pastures up to the 3 crosses. You reach the summit after these. You will find a panoramic orientation table.
The descent route is identical to the ascent.
In case of bad weather, follow the markers and the markings on the ground to avoid straying too far from the itinerary by taking the paths (small trails) created by the cows.
