In the forest, three trails are possible, the first one propose a departure from the nordic itinerary in Richebourg. The second one departure is "Chez les Ogay" and the last on departure is "Les Carres".
From Le Pré, follow the cross-country ski route alongside the Dranse river, taking care to watch out for skiers. Once at Les Carres, start your Climb through the forest until you reach Les Ouyes chalet, staying on the forest trail*. The next stage is on the flat to Chalet Chon. The route then opens out onto La Plagne Alpine meadow wich you need to cross. Now continue downhill through the forest to an altitude marker (1012m) and turn left. You will reach the uphill section you took earlier.
From Chez les Ogays hamlet: climb through the forest to the altitude marker (1012m) and turn to your right before rejoining the path between Les Carres and les Ouyes chalet. Then follow the directions as indicated above by the asterisk*. From chez les Ogays hamlet, you can also return to la Chapelle d'Abondance by following La Chapelle n°7 route.
