Hike: Around the Mont de Grange
Mont de Grange is a Natura 2000 and hunting reserve.
This hike enables to discover a nature shared between wildlife and alpine pastures.
This path around the Mont de Grange is dedicated to experienced hikers .
Start / Return: Map of lights at La Chapelle d'Abondance
Take the stony path in the direction of the Enquernaz. You will cross the La Chapelle d'Abondance ski area and the Plaine Joux mountain pasture.
At l'Enquernaz, descend towards La Chapelle Saint-Théodule. At Les Fauges, follow the tarmac road to the Poses. From there, take the path behind the chalet which leads you to Les Séchets. Then, again the asphalt road on your right until Fontaine Froide. At the crossroads, take the road on the left towards La Plagnette. At La Plagnette, the road continues along a path which leads you to the Saint-Théodule Chapel.
After the chapel go to Lenlevay through the mountain pastures.
In Lenlevay, follow on the left the path which passes through the chalets in the direction of Etrye. Pass the chalet then the Etrye stream. The path then goes up to the Pron chalets, then to the Mattes chalet and back down to the Torrens chalets.
From here, continue to Crottes. Finally, join the forest track on the left which will lead you to the Plan des Feux.
