Circuit 40 Black - Skyrun Challenge des 4D

A beautiful but technical skyrun, to be used only for experienced trailers. The track starts around Châtel Vonne's lake. Take advantage of that part to warm-up, this will be the only flat part of the track.

You will gradually run up to the Morgin's lake. Then you will ascent to reach the Pointe du Midi (1875m) From km 2, the paths is very technical, you will run to the first summit on the pure tradition of a vertical kilometer track. This spot is the first of the 2000m altitude challenge. From there, you will apprecitate the view on Châtel and Morgins nearby. Then you will continue to run along the summit, facing the magnificent Dents du Midi. Next summit will be the Col de Fecon, and ascent to the Tête du linga (2156m). We recommend runners to walk and be careful on this part, it could be very deep. The Hauts Forts and Mont Blanc appears at that point. A last challenge to the Tête du Geant, highest point of this skyrun. The paths is very small and technical, some chains are on your way to help you progress. After arriving to the Tête du Geant, an impressive landscape will appears facing you, ideal moment to take a break and take pictures. This summit is the last reachable, you will start to run back after that. The way back will be on the same track, be careful on the technical path. The arrival at the Vonne's lake is your last checkpoint, come to the chalet "Portes du Soleil", we will offer you something to drink. Congratulations, you succed it !
